For enthusiasts of history and traditions, a visit to the nearby Baroque church of Madonna della Neve is a must, known for its onion-shaped bell tower and interior frescoes.
For nature lovers, the surroundings are a true paradise. A walk along Lake Fedaia will reward you with breathtaking views of the Dolomite peaks. In winter, the Sellaronda, a loop that crosses the four valleys (Val di Fassa, Val Gardena, Alta Badia, and Arabba), offers unique thrills for skiing enthusiasts, while in summer, you can explore Val di Fassa through hikes and mountain biking excursions.
The local cuisine is a delicious mix of Ladin flavors and South Tyrolean influences. Don′t miss the cajoncie da fighes, typical of Val di Fassa, ravioli filled with a sweet and savory mixture of dried figs, stale bread, and cheese, topped with melted butter and poppy seeds.
Another traditional dish is canederli, large bread dumplings made with stale bread and cheese (often the local Puzzone di Moena) or speck, served with melted butter or in broth.
Sweet lovers should not miss trying the forteses, characterized by their snail-like shape; they are a batter of flour, milk, and eggs fried in hot oil, served warm with powdered sugar and lingonberry jam.
